Security Coordinator Full Time

Supervises and coordinates Security staff, providing support, guidance and training to all staff.
Maintains necessary staffing levels during the coordination of work activities and special projects
Develops programs and conducts staff development activities to improve staff competency levels.
Provides staff with annual performance evaluations, competency assessments, counseling and discipline.
Manages departmental operating budget. Develops programs to ensure salary and non-salary goals are met.
Ensures that a safe and secure environment is maintained through the design, installation and utilization of security systems which includes but is not limited to: closed circuit.
Coordinates testing of safety and security systems to ensure consistent, reliable operation.
Maintains system wide audio/video surveillance equipment.
Develops risk management programs to reduce or eliminate safety and security issues at all facilities.
Schedules and conducts drills to test, maintain and document staff response and equipment operation.
Coordinates and enforces vehicle/pedestrian traffic and crowd control
Works closely with local law enforcement agencies to assist security monitoring facilities and response to emergencies.
Investigates thefts and other related incidents with the assistance of the local and state authorities, if required.
Develops programs to attain personal goals and participates in educational activities to insure further professional growth.
Ensures the appropriate exchange of information through the hospital’s switchboard system and alarm systems.
Performs duties as Security Officer
Maintains a current KY driver’s license.
Maintains certified taser instructor certification
Maintains current BCLS.
Provides support to Safety Director in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management functions.
Minimum Age: 18
Experience Required:
Associate degree preferred. Intimate knowledge of law enforcement and/or security operations required. Law enforcement or healthcare management training preferred. EXPERIENCE: Five years Healthcare Security, law enforcement, and/or safety experience is required. Five years supervisor experience preferred.
